Tral shuts for 4th day over militant killings
ANANTNAG, July 18: An elderly man who was injured in army firing in Bijbehara town on Monday succumbed to injuries today.
Muhammad Abdullah Ganai, aged 60, suffered critical injuries after the army opened fire during a brawl between them and civilians over the thrashing of a Scooty rider.
Ganai was immediately shifted to sub-district hospital Bijbehara where from doctors referred him to Bone and joint hospital Srinagar. After being treated for multiple fractures at B and J hospital he was referred to SKIMS for advanced treatment where he succumbed today evening.
"The injured man succumbed to injuries at around 5 pm today. Besides suffering multiple fractures he had suffered a huge blood loss," a doctor told Kashmir Times.
As soon as the news about his death spread in his native area people started assembling at his residence.
Meanwhile a complete shutdown was observed in Tral township of south Kashmir for the consecutive day over the killing of three militants in a forest area on Saturday. Three militants identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Lone, Parvez Ahmad and their Pakistani associate were killed after being trapped in a cave in Satoora forests. All the shops, other business offices and private offices remained shut in the town in mourning while as passenger traffic also remained off the roads.
