Selling out food grains outside state

FCI, CAPD deptt officer in VOK net

JAMMU, July 18: Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) claimed to have registered a case against Food Corporation of India (FCI) and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department officers for selling out the food grains outside the state.
Official reports said that on July 17, 2017, Vigilance Organization Kashmir registered a case FIR number 18 of 2017 under section 5(1) (c) 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 section 120-B, RPC. On the outcome of verification conducted in to the allegations that Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CA&PD) J&K procures food grains through FCI from Punjab and Haryana and stores the food grains at FCI store Drugmulla Kupwara. However, the official sold out the said food grains outside the state and only came up with the challans of these trucks to FCI store Drugmulla Kupwara so as to manage the withdrawal of transportation charges causing loss to the state exchequer.
“The officers/officials of FCI and CA&PD Kupwara and others in league with each other and under a well knit criminal conspiracy by misuse and abuse of their official position have committed misappropriation which resulted in loss to the tune of Rs. 17, 80, 200 on account of misappropriation of rice and loss to the tune of Rs 3, 22, 000 on account of carriage charges to the state exchequer,” reports claimed.
A case has been registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir.
