Landslides disrupt traffic on highway

BANIHAL, July 24: Shooting stones and landslide disrupted the vehicular traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Panthyal and Rattanbass areas of Ramban district for more than three hours.
Due to shooting stones and landslide traffic remain suspended for more than three hours on both locations of Panthyal and Rattanbass respectively.
Reports said that at about 8.30 AM in the morning shooting stone started at Panthyal which forced the suspension of traffic on national at the location of Panthyal. After shooting stones stopped, HCC started traffic restoration works by removing debris of shooting stones.
Traffic was restored by road maintenance agency within span of two hours.
After restoring traffic at Panthayal another landslide in shape of heavy boulder blocked traffic on Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Rattanbass about 3 Kilometers short from Banihal town at about 7.00 PM.
In Rattanbass traffic remain suspended for more than one hour.
After that HCC (road maintenance agency) pressed men and machinery into the service and restored traffic after one hour’s of blockade.
