CRPF man injured in Nowgam attack

SRINAGAR, Aug 5: A CRFP man was injured when militants tonight attacked a police vehicle in Nowgam area of Srinagar, causing panic among the residents and passers by.
"Militants fired upon a bunker vehicle of Police at Nowgam at 8.45 PM, resulting in injuries to a CRPF head constable who has been shifted to Army hospital for treatment," a police official said.
He said the firing caused panic among the residents of Nowgam and adjoining areas as passers by at the busy city intersection ran towards safety.
Traffic was briefly suspended on the Parimpora-Pantha Chowk bypass road following the attack, he added.
