Necessity of improving Dariba Post Office
Kashmir Times. Dated: 8/17/2017 1:10:24 AM
Dear Editor,
Post Office at Dariba, Delhi is one of the oldest post-offices in the city. But unfortunately it is amongst the most neglected post-offices where even computerized passbook-printer is not yet installed. Working with a very limited staff, it is quite often that even permanent staffers are often sent to other post-offices whenever needed thus causing lots of hardships to the users of postal-services. Situation has worsened still more with Chandni Chowk post-office recently closed permanently.
Postal-authorities of Delhi area should give a fresh look to this post-office by getting it renovated with new office-equipments installed especially the computerized pass-book printer. It should be ensured that permanent staffers at this post-office may not be temporarily shunted out to other post-offices as and when required.
Since several post-offices like at Chandni Chowk and Daryaganj have been closed permanently in recent past due to vacation of respective premises by land-lords, postal-authorities should get some proper premises at ground floor at least in commercial hub of Chandni Chowk, Delhi for opening of a new post-office.
