He was summoned by NI to New Delhi for questioning in alleged terror funding case. Qayoom was questioned for two days and allowed to return but asked to present himself before NIA on September 14.

Soon after his arrival here, Qayoom presided over the general body meeting of bar, where a decision was taken to resume work. The lawyers were on strike foe last several days against summoning of their president by the investigating agency.

A lawyer said Mian Qayoom reached Srinagar today and has been asked to appear again before NIA on September 14. Eight members of Bar had gone along with Mian Qayoom to New Delhi.

The Bar’s general body will meet on Tuesday (September 12), two days before Qayoom will fly to Delhi to appear before NIA.

Lawyers across Kashmir valley on Friday had suspended the court work for the consecutive fifth day today to protest against NIA for summoning their president to New Delhi.
