World XI players’ performance will count towards their career stats : ICC

MUMBAI, Sep 12: The performance of the World XI players participating in the T-20 matches against Pakistan in Pakistan will be recorded against their individual names. This was revealed by Sami-ul-Hasan, the Head of Media & Communications, ICC.
Speaking from Lahore, he said, "as per the ICC Board decision, the matches between Pakistan and the World XI have T20Is, as such, the players’ performance will count towards their career stats. This will be no different to the three previous World XI matches in 2005 or the Asia XI v Africa XI matches etc in which player and country performances / records were recorded".
The statisticians will also maintain a separate section for the World XI players.
"It is always there in ODIs', and one in Tests. Like Dravid and Sehwag have played for Woreld XI in Tests", Mohandas Menon, India's renowned name in digging numbers, said.
"Dravid has 210 catches in Tests. Out of which 209 for playing for India and 1 one World XI", he said.
Prank on Boycott :A good joke on the former England opener Geoff Boycott, who scored a 100th hundred for England against Rest of the World XI Test series in 1970, was played recently.
A few weeks ago during a Test Match Special (TMS) commentary (against South Africa at the Oval) Jonathan Agnew played a prank on Geoffrey Boycott by producing a fake ICC media release, which stated that the ICC has agreed that the series was played against the spirit of the Gleneagles agreement and that in the interests of keeping cricket free from political interference, all matches will be removed from First Class records.
Boycott was more "disturbed" because he had thrown a party on 11th August (2017) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his 100th hundred, which he had scored on 11th August 1977. He had arranged a fund raising charity dinner for 180 guests at his house.
