2 of family among 4 killed, 5 hurt in Ramban, Doda accidents

BANIHAL, Sep 20: Two brothers including four persons lost their lives in a road mishap when an Alto car in which they were travelling rolled down into 400 feet deep gorge on Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Kela Morh in Ramban.
All four persons boarding in the vehicle were traders and they died on spot.
Police reports said that on Wednesday at about 2.00 PM a Jammu bound Alto car bearing registration number JK02BJ-4514 met with an accident on NH-1A near Kela Morh about 6 Kilometers away from Ramban town. The ill-fated vehicle which was heading towards Jammu from Srinagar when reached near Kela Morh the driver of the car lost his control over the car while negotiating a curve due to which the car skidded off the road and rolled down into 400 feet deep gorge.
All the four persons including two brothers boarding in the vehicle died on spot.
Police sources said that Rs 4,50,000 cash was also recovered from the vehicle at the accident spot.
The deceased were identified as Shams Khan son of Haji Mirza Khan, his brother Nazir Ahmed both residents of Gole Gujral, Jammu, Shah Mohammad, son of Alaf Din of Gole Gujral Jammu and Shikyat Ali, son of Kakoo of Akhnoor.
Police, Army QRT and SDRF personals launched rescue operation and brought out bodies from 400 feet deep gorge after hectic efforts.
Rescuer brought all the bodies to District Hospital Ramban where after autopsy and other police formalities were conducted.
In this regard, a case has been registered in Police Station Ramban and police started investigation.
Meanwhile, five persons were injured after a taxi they were travelling in turned turtle near Bimina village of Dessa area of Doda district on Wednesday.
Reports said a vehicle (registration number JK06-5839) carrying five persons including the driver was on its way to Dessa from Bimina when the accident took place near near Bimina village, 25 Km from Doda town.
“Police along with locals immediately reached the spot and rescued all the passengers from the ill-fated vehicle and shifted them to District Hospital Doda, where their condition is said to be stable," said DySP HQ Iftkhar Ahmed.
The injured were identified as Des Raj (60) son of Neelkanth and his wife Shirjan Devi (59) resident of Shingri Dessa, Jaswant Singh (38) son of Fulel Singh resident of Shingri Dessa, Roshan Din (28) son of Mohd Shafi and Shams Din (25) son of Kala Gujjar Resident of Hill, Dessa.
