Separatists call for shutdown on Oct 9

SRINAGAR, Oct 7: The joint separatist leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, today called for a shutdown on October 9 (Monday) against braid chopping incidents in state.
In a statement, commenting over the incessant braid chopping the separatist leadership said it is a well thought out conspiracy and added that “it is a big challenge for us as dignity of women folk is at stake.” They appealed people to observe complete shutdown against humiliation meted to women.
“Let us convey a message to these miscreants that in no way we will give up our resistance and will pursue the right to self-determination movement,” said the leadership.
