Army organises Chenab valley cricket league

KISHTWAR, Oct 9: Indian Army organised a “Cricket League” from September 26 to Oct 9 with an aim to promote positive environment in the region and to showcase the hidden sporting talent of locals at Kishtwar .
A total of 54 teams had registered from various schools and villages of remote area of Kishtwar to participate in the league on knock-out basis. The final match was played between Friends XI Kishtwar and Ramban Warriors. After a competitive and hard-fought game, the team from Ramban Warriors won the final match by 61 runs. The final match was witnessed by more than 600 spectators, apart from officials from local administration and Sarpanchs.
The event was very well received and appreciated by the local populace. Army will continue to organise more such events in future and continue with its effort to promote peace, prosperity and harmony in the region.
