KEG endorses Malik’s statement
SRINAGAR, Oct 12: Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) today said veteran journalist Mohammad Sayeed Malik’s resentment to government appointed panel on media advisory was statement of the fact and the fraternity backs him for his stand.

In a statement, KEG appreciated Malik for his clarity wherein the veteran journalist categorically pinpointed that he will never be part of any group that is supposed to "manage media" because as a professional he believes that the very concept of media management is against the basic spirit of the freedom of press.

The state government should have also consulted members of media fraternity before any such move as candidly put by veteran journalist on media-government relations,” said the statement.
