Govt revokes attachment order of JDI Kashmir

Asks him to resume his duties

SRINAGAR, Oct 17: The state government today revoked the attachment order of the joint director information Kashmir, Zahoor Ahmad Mir and asked him to resume his duties as JDI Kashmir.
“In continuation to the Govt Order No: 39-ID of 2017 dated: 10-10-2017, it is ordered that Zahoor Ahmad Mir, KAS, attached with the office of the Director Information is hereby repatriated to his earlier position as Joint Director Information Kashmir,” said an order issued by the government in this regard.
The attachment order has been revoked on the directions of the minister for Information, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, to facilitate smooth functioning of the office of Joint Director Information Kashmir.
It may be recalled here that the joint director was attached by the state government for allegedly giving wrong information in reply to a question under RTI. His attachment had led to strike and protests in information department. The employees demanded revocation of the attachment order.
Later they first partially resumed their work on the assurance of Director Information, Muneer-ul-Islam and then ended the strike completely on the assurance of minister. Finally, the government today revoked the attachment order.
