Inter-Collegiate Hockey (Men) tourney 2017-18
GDC Kathua team outplays GDC Paloura, enters semis

JAMMU, Nov 8: GDC Kathua team outplayed GDC Paloura by 3-0 goals on the third day of the Inter-Collegiate Hockey (Men) Tournament organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education at the University Hockey Field.

Sumit Sharma (12th minute) and Harkirat Singh(15th& 45th minutes) scored the goals for the Kathua team.

In the second match, Govt SPMRCollege of Commerce team beat GDC Poonch by 3-1 goals.

Balmeet Singh (2nd& 53rd minute) scored two goals for the commerce College team and Dheeraj Singh(59th minute) scored the third goal.

The only goals for the Poonch team was scored by Ramandeep Singh in the 20th minute.

Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu was also present and also interaction with the participants.

The matches were officiated by Motinderpal Singh, Jagjeet Singh Reen, Karanjeet Singh, Ranveet Singh, Harmeek Singh, Harvinderpal Singh and P.D.Singh.

The semi-final matches of the above said tournament will be played on tomorrow at 11:00 a.m and 12:30 p.m.

Cricket (Men): In the first match of the Inter-Collegiate Cricket(Men) Tournament 2017-18 organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, played between the teams of GDC R.S.Pura & GDC Doda, the GDC R.S.Pura won the toss and decided to field first.

The GDC Doda scored 145 runs in 15 overs. The GDC R.S.Pura scored 112 runs in 15 overs. The GDC Doda won by 33 runs.

In the second match between GDC Udhampur V/s GDC Kishtwar. The GDC Udhampur scored 104 runsin 16 overs. The GDC Kishtwarscored 105 runs in 14.2 overs .The GDC Kishtwar won by 07 wickets.

The Inter-Collegiate Cricket(Men) Tournament is being played under the overall supervision of Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu.

Boxing (Men ) : The Overall Trophy was won by P.G.Department with 21 points and the GDC Udhampur remained runner up with 19 points.

Officials who were present include Sanjeev Jamwal, Harinder Pal Singh, Aman Sangral, Sarfraz, Sajad Ahmed.
