Clashes during search Op at Hajin, Lassipora

SRINAGAR, Nov 10: Clashes occurred between protestors and security forces at Hajin in north Kashmir and Lassipora in south Kashmir during cordon and search operation. A police officer was injured in clashes at Meemander in Shopian.
Reports said that clashes occurred today when security forces cordoned off Banger Mohalla in Hajin area of Bandipora district today.
As the security men cordoned off Banger Mohalla, locals took to streets and pelted stones. The security forces burst smoke shells and resorted to lathi-charge.
This led to clashes, which continued for some time.
The security forces had cordoned off Banger Mohalla following inputs about the presence of militants.
Clashes also erupted in Lassipora in Pulwama district when security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation there. The youth took to streets and pelted stones on security men.
The security forces and police lobbed smoke shells to disperse the protestors.
A police officer was injured when a stone his head during protests in Shopian. An official said a few youth pelted stones on the residence of MLA Shopian Mohammad Yousuf Bhat in Meemandar area.
Police rushed to the spot. A stone hit the police officer hit on the head. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Bhat said stones were hurled at his residence. He added that he was in Srinagar when the incident occurred.
