Chenab valley wrestling championship organises at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Nov 10: Chenab Valley Wrestling Championship 2017 was organised by Army from Nov 7 to 10 at Chowgan ground, Kishtwar.
A total of six teams from Chenab Valley participated in the competition. The young budding wrestlers from three districts of Jammu region including Ramban, Doda & Kishtwar took up the challenge in this extravaganza. Bouts were conducted in free style wrestling under different weight catergories to include 57 Kg upto 100 Kg.
The event was witnessed by large gathering of locals on all the days. All the matches were conducted as per the rules of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). The overall winning team Kisthwar Warriors Team ‘A’ was awarded Rs 40,000/- and a Rolling Trophy while the runners-up team Kishtwar Warriors Team ‘B’ was awarded with Rs 20,000/- and a Rolling Trophy.
Winner and runners up in each weight categories were also awarded with cash prizes and medals. The event was graced by the presence of several Army and Civil dignitaries of Kishtwar District.
