MHAC Nagbani celebrates Sports Day
JAMMU, Nov 10: The Annual Athletic meet of MHAC Nagbani was held at the schools premises here today.

In the opening ceremony Mohd Alyas Khan, SDM, Bhalwal was the Chief Guest for the day and took the salute of all the squads as they marched past. The Sports captain of the school Aakarshit Rekhi held aloft the school banner followed by the girl’s Sports Captain, Bhumika.

The programme started with a welcome song and a DAV song sung by all the students and teachers which reverberated in the air. The best athletes of yester year in the senior and junior categories were honoured by being the bearers of the school torch.

Aakarshit Rekhi, Sports Captain (Boys) carried the school torch in turns to light up the sports flame. Sports oath was taken by Bhumika, Sports Captain (Girls). Signifying the true sportsman spirit with which the events would be completed, the students put a vivacious and spectacular performance. Blue Brigade of MHAC was launched and the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries pinned up the rosettes to register the respective students as blue warriors.

Water oath was taken by these warriors who pledged to conserve water at home, in the school and in the neighborhood and send a message to the society. Boys and girls competed in all the events in the true competitive spirit of sports. The 4x100 mts race was the real thriller. Apart from this, the main attractions were cycle race, elbow ball race, Bag pack race and Matka race.

The eagerness and enthusiasm of the students reached a peak when AmarHouse walked away with the trophy of Best House. Fancy Dress (Classes I to IV) Rangoli Competition and Fine Art Exhibition were among the main attractions of the day.

In the closing ceremony, Anusuia Jamwal, Personal Officer (KAS) presided over the function and congratulated the students for their achievements and spoke about the importance of games and sports in student’s life. Kritarthi Kotwal was declared the Best Athlete in the girl’s category Junior and Sushmita Saini in the senior whereas Raghav Gupta was declared the Best Athlete (Boy) in the junior and Gourav Verma in the senior category.

School Principal, Sween Puri read out the Sport Report, welcome speech and sports accomplishments of the school in the past year.
