Says self-rule a solution for Kashmir problem

SRINAGAR, Nov 12: Senior vice-president of PDP Sartaj Madni today said if Hurriyat Conference really feels pain of the people of Kashmir, then they should come forward for the talks.
Stating that the PDP’s document of self-rule is a viable solution to the Kashmir problem, he said when PDP was formed, it started with an agenda.
“Mufti Sahab always used to say that we want to become a bridge between India and Pakistan. We tried our best to start a dialogue process. We are still taking efforts. Now another interlocutor has come for the talks,” Madni said at Kupwara.
“If Hurriyat wants welfare of the people and realises the pain of Kashmiris, then they should come forward for the talks,” he said.
About the Autonomy document of National Conference, Madni said let Farooq Abdullah explain what happened to their autonomy proposal, which they had passed in the state assembly. “They sent it to the parliament when his son Omar Abdullah was a minister in the Union government,” he added.
Madni said there is no threat to the integrity of the state of Jammu and Kashmir as their party has a set agenda of alliance with BJP.
Minister for law and rural development, Abdul Haq Khan, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Fayaz Mir were also present in the convention at Kupwara.
