Odd-even plying of cars in Delhi
ActIT Jammu, ASP.net Projects, Java, Vb.net, C# Training Jammu
Dear Editor,

Implementation of odd-even for cars in Delhi from 13.11.2017 to 17.11.2017 with too many exemptions after the worst polluted days to be over may prove to be simply theoretical since exempted two-wheelers are highly polluting vehicles burning petrol mixed with mobile-oil. Since CNG-fitted cars having additional facility of being petrol-driven, odd-even formula should also have been applied on these for a real experience. It is not understood how reducing metro-fares will help curb pollution, because people desired to shift to metro are affording car-users. Odd-even if applied should have been for 4 am to 12 midnight to additionally tackle road-jams because of marriage-season, compelling people for car-pooling to attend marriage-celebrations. Odd-even has been boon for car-manufacturers and rich people because of doubling car-fleet with alternate numbers by rich section of society.

Permanent solution to problem for tackling pollution by vehicles in Delhi are:

Adopt Singapore-model whereby only old registered cars can be replaced with new cars with registration-numbers of old cars.

Only CNG-fitted petrol-driven cars may be sold and registered

GST on higher-priced cars say above rupees ten lakhs as basic price may be in next higher slab to discourage production of big cars which occupy more road-space

•Pollution-Checking-Machines should be mandatory at all automobile-workshops with compulsion of free pollution-check every time a vehicle leaves the workshop.
