Shutdown in Hajin, Parimpora over militant killings

SRINAGAR, Nov 20: Parimpora area of Srinagar city observed a shutdown for the third consecutive day today over the killing of local militant Mugees Ahmed Mir.
Mir was killed in a brief shootout in Zakura area in the outskirts of Srinagar city with security forces. A police sub-inspector Mohammad Imran Tak was also killed in the shootout.
Reports said shops and business establishments remained shut in the area.
Meanwhile, Hajin town of Bandipora district also observed shutdown over the killing of six Lashkar-e-Taiba militants.
Six militants and an Indian Air Force Commando were killed in a fierce gun battle at Chandergeer area of Hajin Town on Saturday evening.
Reports said Hajin and its adjoining areas including Chandergeer, Shahgund, Hakhbara, Soudnara, Markundal, Vijpara and other areas. Transport was off the roads.
