2 cops injured in Kulgam accidental fire

SRINAGAR, Dec 4: Two police men were when the service rifle of a constable went off accidently inside police station Kulgam in South Kashmir this morning.
Reports said the service rifle of a sentry went off accidently in a guard post resulting in the injuries of two cops.
The injured cops were identified as Fayaz Ahmed and Zaheer Abbas.
Both the injured cops were removed to sub district hospital Kulgam where doctors referred them to Srinagar hospital for further treatment.
A police official said they are investigating the matter. Top police officials including DIG south Kashmir SP Pani visited the police station to take stock of the situation.
Meanwhile, police arrested a man after he allegedly fired upon his neighbour using .12 bore gun in Gund Ibrahim Pattan.
Reports said an 18 year old youth was injured when he entered into a heated argument with his neigbour who took out his 12 bore gun and allegedly fired upon him.
A police official said there was a scuffle between two persons Waheed Dar and Fayaz Dar during which the later used his 12 bore rifle and fired upon Waheed Dar (18).
Waheed was shifted to sub district hospital Pattan where from Doctors referred him to SKIMS for advanced treatment. “We have registered a case and investigation has been taken up,” the official said adding that the accused has been arrested.
