Budgam police organises Masters Athletics competition

JAMMU, Dec 10: Budgam police has organized a mega event “Budgam Masters Athletics meet”, which was held at BSF Training Centre Humhama. In this mega event, five events viz 100, 200, 400 meters race, long jump and shot put were held.
In the 100 meters race Javid Ahmad Dar resident of Rathsa Beerwah, Shabir Ah Bhat resident of Sholipora and Latief Ahmad Dear resident of Sholipora bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.
In 200 meters race Mohammad Sultan Bhat resident of Sholipora, Feroz Ahmad Sheikh resident of Budgam and Mohammad Rafiq resident of Budgam were adjudged as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively and Mohammad Yousuf Mir Lachenpora Khag, Mohammad Akhter Dar resident of Chetergam Malikgund and Abdul Rashid Dar resident of Hardi Suran bagged the first three positions.
In the long jump Lateef Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Sultan Bhat residents of Sholipora and Kazafi Mir resident of Wudwan Budgam were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
The shot-put event was won by Lateef Ah Dar resident of Sholipora, Ajaz Ah Wani and Mohammad Rafiq residents of Budgam were adjudged as 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The first three position holders in all the five events were awarded with medals by DySP DAR Shri Rasiq Ahmad Mir. A large number of sports loving People were present to watch the athletes perform. The winners of these events will participate at State level in Jammu.
