CRPF Jammu Sector organises Football tourney: Spl DG

JAMMU, Dec 12: CRPF Jammu Sector is organizing Football tournaments from today across districts Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar for the youth of the region.
Speaking to media SN Shrivastav, Special DG J&K Zone CRPF at CRPF Group Centre, Bantalab, Jammu said that these tournaments are being organized under Civic Action Program of the Force.
He said that the tournaments would provide an opportunity to the youth of the region to unearth their abundant hidden potential. He appealed the youth to grab the opportunity and live their sporty dream. He also emphasized that such initiatives by the Force are always aimed for the well-being of the people in general and youth in particular. Civic Action Program is such mechanisms of the Force vide which it extends its helping hand towards the public.
He said that Football tournaments are being organized by CRPF in six districts of Jammu region viz. Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar. Eight teams of each district will be playing each other in their respective districts in the first phase.
The winner teams from each district will play each other in the second phase in Jammu where final also will be played. The tournaments are aimed to benefit the youth of the region as it will provide them the required and well deserved platform to give a leap to their career in the sports. SN Shrivastav wished luck to the participating players and hoped for the bright future of the youth of the region
On the occasion, SN Shrivastav mentioned about the public friendly image of the Force and the respect it commands among the public. He appreciated the mutual bond of the Force with the public. He also emphasized upon the role of Jammu Sector in ensuring Law & Order in the state and also crucial role in ensuring safe conduct of various Yatras in the region.
When asked about the militants abandoning their outfits in the state, Shrivastav said that it is a positive outcome of the synergized efforts of the various stakeholders in the State. He also stressed that these efforts will continue in the future also till complete normalcy is established in the State.
Replying to a question, he said that youths from valley are fed up with the militancy and coming back to main stream. He said recently valley based footballer Majid had surrendered in Kashmir should be an eye opener for the all other youths.
He told that CRPF is ready to help the people and state administration in case of any natural calamities . We are working with the state police to maintain law and order in the state, he added.
