2 held with Rs 13 lakhs demonetized currency in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Dec 12: Police late Monday evening arrested three persons and recovered more than Rs 13 lakhs demonetized currency.
Official said that the Police Station Nigeen Srinagar during surprise naka checking at Ashai-bagh last evening apprehended three persons and recovered denominated currency of Rs 1363500 (Thirteen lakhs, sixty-three thousands and five hundreds) from them.
The accused were identified as Bashir Ahmad Khan son of Mohammed Sultan, a resident of Batmaloo, Showket Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammed of Pampore, and Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir of Panthachowk.
Police said that cognizance was taken under the Specified Bank Notes (Cessation of Liabilities) Act, 2017 & further investigation taken up.
