MUMBAI, Jan 8: Apparently the two Marsh brothers-Shaun and Mitchell-who both scored hundreds in the only Sydney Test innings on Sunday dedicated their performance to the late wife of their friends.
"The wife of their common friend died due to breast cancer very recently. My both sons are close to this friend and both wore black armbands on the day of their century", the father of Marsh brothers, Geoff, 59, speaking exclusively, said from Australia. It is not uncommon to find Australian players mourn.
This time only these brothers wore black armbands. And earlier in this series the entire team consoled the wicket-keeper Tim Paine.
Paine's trip to Melbourne for the fourth Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) was delayed following the death of his father-in-law (Thomas Maggs), who suffered a stroke on Christmas Eve.
Like in one of the matches in the past when all team members wore black armbands when the daughter of their media manager had died, the players also backed Paine in this difficult times.
