Jammu Nursing College to begin from current academic session

JAMMU, Jan 8: The state government has decided to start first batch in the newly established Nursing College Jammu from the current academic session.
This was decided at a high level meeting of senior functionaries of Higher Education Department chaired by Principal Secretary, HED Dr Asgar Samoon here today.
The Nursing College will function from Government Women College, Gandhi Nagar campus with affiliation to Jammu University, while the interview for engaging the faculty and other staff for the Nursing College will also commence from the current week.
The first batch will comprise of 60 students as per the intake capacity and the candidates would be shortlisted strictly as per merit, out of 980 applicants who have applied for the admission.
The meeting was attended by JU Dean Academics, Keshav Sharma, Registrar, J&K State Paramedical Council Dr Sandeep Singh, Principal Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Koushal Samotra and Principal Nursing College, Indira Moza.
