JKBOSE declares results; 66 pass percentage in 10th class

SRINAGAR, Jan 9: With overall pass percentage of 66.33, the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Tuesday declared results of class 10th (Kashmir zone) annual examination held in November last year.
The results were declared on the official website of BOSE at 5pm this evening amidst confusion as a formal notification was issued few days ago that the results will be announced anytime after 10th of this month.
A board official said that the total number of students who had appeared in exams were 69056 followed by 35997 boys and 33059 girls.
The official figures said that out of 69056 candidates enrolled for the examination, 43464 candidates qualified the same while 25542 candidates including 13164 boys and 12378 girls were declared fail.
“Number of students who have passed the exams is 43464 while 25542 students were declared fail. Students re-appeared in one or two subjects are 3998 with 2072 boys followed by1926 girls,” the official added.
He however said JKBOSE did not announced the toppers name or other details for the class 10th examination as the results were announced in shape of grades and total marks only.
The Board official said that the total percentage of qualified students is 63.33 with 62.52 percent boys and 62.94 percent girls.
Earlier in the day, a formal notification was issued by BOSE directing all students to check their results through its official website at 5pm. The announcement created chaos among the people who were of the opinion that results will be declared anytime between 10th and 15th of January.
“I was confused as to what is happening, earlier the authorities said don’t pay heed to rumors on social media while the formal notification issued today left me dumb,” said Irshad Ahmad from Nowshehra whose daughter qualified with A1 grade.
