NZ Inter University TT tourney 2017-18 commences

JAMMU, Jan 11: The North Zone Inter-University Table Tennis Tournament 2017-18 for men organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu was declared open by Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu at the University of Jammu Sports Stadium.
Prof Aima in his address to the articipants/gathering advised the youth to actively take part in the Sports activities to remain physically & mentally fit as well as socially adjustable.
He also congratulated the University authorities for organizing a Sports event of the National repute.
After declaring the tournament open, Prof. Aima also played few Table Tennis knocks at the venue of competition i.e. Gymnasium Hall of the University in the presence of the participants.
Prof RD Sharma, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu presided over the Opening Ceremony function and in his address said that participation in the Sports activities can make an all round development of an individual, so the youth should regularly participate in the Sports activities.
Prof Avtar S Jasrotia, Director Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu presented the welcome address.

Chitkara University Punjab beat GJUST Hissar 3-0. MRSPTU Bathinda beat BMN University Rohtak by 3-0. NCU Gurgaon beat PEC Chandigarh by 3-2. DCRUST Murthal beat Islamic University of Sc.& Tech. Kashmir 3-1. PTU Jallandhar beat Bundhalkhand University Jhansi by 3-0. JMI University New Delhi beat PAU Ludhiana by 3-0. KR Manglam University gets walkover against CSKHP Palampur. CSJM University Kanpur gets walkover against Jamia Hamdard University Delhi. University of Kashmir gets walkover against CCSHAU Hissar. RML University Avadh Faisabad gets walkover against UTU Uttrakhand. GNA Phagwara gets walkover against Sharda University Noida.
The matches were officiated by Deepak, Mahit, Gurvinder, Gurpreet, Monarch Chopra, Sujay, Manisha, Pushp Lata, Meenu Rajesh, Gourav Sharma under the supervision of V.K Gulati & Yatish Kumar from the NSNIS Patiala.
