SRINAGAR, Jan 12: The state government has placed under suspension two teachers over dismal results in class 10th examination in Dardpora government high school in Kupwara district.
Only one student out of 44 students in the school had qualified the class 10th examination recently.
“Two teachers have been suspended and the increment of two others has been stopped,” said Director School Education Dr G N Yatoo.
He added that his department will hold special tuition classes for those students of the school who could not pass the class 10th examination.
“The government has decided to hold special remedial tuition classes for the students within a period of one week. A high level team including myself will visit the Dardpora area at Kupwara and seek details from the students and locals about the facilities that they need so that they could get quality education. Further, free of cost coaching will begin for those students who could not clear class 10 exams,” Dr Yatoo said.
The local residents and parents of the students had accused the teaching staff of the school of not imparting quality education to the students there.
