Pak shells Poonch villages, army posts

POONCH, Jan 14: Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing from across the border, targetting forward posts and villages in Degwar, Karmara and Gulpur areas on the Line of Control in Poonch district late Sunday evening.
The Indian troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) too were retaliatingd the firing but there was no immediate report of any casualty.
Official sources said Pakistani army late Sunday evening around 10.45 PM opened heavy firing targetting forward Indian border posts and villages in Degwar, Karmara and Gulpur sectors of Poonch district, causing panic among the border residents. Pak shells were raining on Indian villages, the locals said.
Heavy exchange of firing between the two sides was continuing when last reports were received.
"Indian army was using light bombs suspecting infiltration bid from Pakistan side," said sources.
