Pro-Rasheed protest by supporters

SRINAGAR, Jan 17: Scores of supporters of independent legislator from Langate constituency, Engineer Rashid took out a peaceful rally here to protest alleged humiliation of MLA by Deputy Speaker.
Protesters carrying pictures of Rashid marched from Sheri Kashmir Municipal Park to Pratap Park, seeking unconditional apology from the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
They said that their leader has been continuously being humiliated for raising issues confronting commoners in Kashmir valley.
“It is not for the first time that he was injured or humiliated in the Assembly, but it has become a norm to marshall out Rashid. What was his fault why did the Deputy Speaker Nazir Gurezi order Marshals to drag him out of the house,” said a protester.
Protesting supporters demanded unconditional apology from Gurezi for humiliating MLA Langate for none of his fault.
Endorsing the boycott of remaining session of assembly by Rashid, the protesters said the step of boycotting remaining session by him is a sensible decision.
