Shops, private school gutted in Khurhama fire

SRINAGAR, Jan 17: Over a dozen shops and a private school building were gutted in a fire incident at Khurhama in Kupwara last night.
Reports said that the fire broke out at around 11.45 PM from a shop. It immediately engulfed the neighbouring shops and a school building.
The local people started the fire fighting operation. They were joined by fire services personnel.
The fire was brought under control after several hours. But before that over a dozen shops and a private school building was gutted.
Police said the cause of fire was not known immediately.
The affected shopkeepers said property worth lakhs was destroyed in the devastating fire mishap.
