Omar criticises govt for construction of mall
SRINAGAR, Jan 30: Hitting out at the government over reports that a mall is being constructed near Zero Bridge in flood channel in violation of the rules, former chief minister Omar Abdullah today said this small patch of land played a vital role in 2014 floods, ‘allowing us to pump water out’.

“I’ve been told it is Irrigation & Flood Control land. This small patch of land played a vital role in 2014 floods, allowing us to pump water out,” Omar Abdullah, who is the working president of National Conference, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

“We set up one of our high-capacity pumps there and pumped water from Rajbagh into this enclosure. I’m amazed to see a construction site now,” he added.

Probe by sitting judge demanded
