High speed mobile internet services restored
FARZANA SYED
SRINAGAR, Mar 6: Barring south Kashmir, the high speed internet service was restored in Valley today.

Low speed internet service was restored in south Kashmir except for Shopian and Pulwama districts.

Pertinently, the state authorities had barred high speed internet across Kashmir valley including summer capital Srinagar on Monday morning following the killing of four civilians in Shopian district of South Kashmir on late Sunday evening.

On Monday the mobile internet service was completely suspended in south Kashmir.

On Sunday evening three civilians were killed in firing by army in Shopian district of South Kashmir after millitants had allegedly fired a vehicle of security forces.

On Monday morning body of one more civilian was found at a nearby place. The killings have triggered massive anger and anguish amid protests across Kashmir valley.

"Acting over the directions of state administration the mobile internet service was suspended in south Kashmir while high speed Internet was also barred in entire Kashmir," an official at Vodafone service provider said.

"Early Tuesday morning we resumed the mobile internet services following the directions from law enforcing agencies. However mobile data combines to remain suspended in several parts of south Kashmir including Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama," customer executive at Jio company operating in Kashmir revealed.

Meanwhile, the continuous gag on internet services has been pushing the subscribers to huge inconvenience.

The customers subscribing to different service providers revealed that frequent internet suspension was causing huge loss to users especially students and people associated with business.

"Whenever there is a killing state government puts curbs on internet knowing how important it is for the students. Across south Kashmir the suspension of Internet service has become order of the day which is pathetic for student community," a group of students from Anantnag district of South Kashmir said.
