Schools, colleges to remain closed for 2 more days: Altaf

SRINAGAR, Mar 12: Education minister Altaf Bukhari today said schools and colleges will remain closed in Kashmir valley as a precautionary measure.
However, director education G N Ittoo said concerned deputy commissioners will take a decision on the issue after assessing the situation on the ground in their respective schools.
Minister for education Altaf Bukhari told media that all schools and colleges shall remain closed for Tuesday and Wednesday.
He said that all exams scheduled for these two days will also be postponed and fresh dates will be notified later.
The step was taken following the killing of three militants at Hakoora, Anantnag.
However, director school education G N Ittoo said the decision whether the schools will reopen or remain close on Tuesday and Wednesday will be taken by respective deputy commissioners after assessing the situation in their respective districts.
“The respective deputy commissioners have been authorised to take a decision about schools after reviewing the situation,” he said.
