Inter Zonal Distt Level Football Competition gets underway

JAMMU, Apr 9: Inter Zonal District Level Football Competitions for boys under the age group of 12, 16 & 19 yrs of District Jammu under “Let’s play co-branded with Khelo India Programme for the year 2018-19 gets underway here today at BSF Paloura Ground & at Govt. Model Middle School Satwari Cantt. Jammu.
In all 610 boys drawn across from 14 Zones of Jammu District are taking part in the competitions.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu in a simple and well attended function at BSF Paloura Grounds.
While addressing the participants, he said that Sports is an integral part of Education and by organising such events provide platform for the children to excel at national and international levels. He further said that healthy brain lies in a healthy body. He also laid stress on to play the game in the true sportsman sprit. Later on, he conveyed his good wishes to the participants during the inaugural ceremony.
The competitions are being organised by Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad , KAS, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu.
While Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the organising Secretary of the tournament.
The details U-12 yrs Boys (Football): Zone Miran Sahab beats Zone Marh by 3-1 goal via Tie breaker . Zone Bhalwal beats Zone R.S. Pura by 2-1 goal via Tie breaker. Zone Arnia beats Zone Khour by 2-1 goal. Zone Jourian beats Zone Bishnah by 1-0 goal. Zone Satwari beats Zone Dansal by 1-0 goal .Zone Akhnoor beats Chowki Choura by 1-0 goal.
U-16 yrs Boys: Zone Bhalwal beats Zone R S Pura by 4-0 goal, Zone Akhnoor beats Zone Chowki Choura by 2-0 goal. Zone Khour beats Zone Arnia by 2-0 goal.
U-19 yrs Boys: Zone Bhalwal beats Zone R. S, pura by 2-1 goal .Zone Satwari beats Zone Dansal by 5-0 goal .Zone Akhnoor beats Zone Chowki Choura by 5-0 goal .Zone Miran Sahab beats Zone Marh by 5-4 goal. Zone Khour beats Zone Arnia by 1-0 goal .Zone Jammu beats Zone Jourian by 6-0 goal.
The matches were officiated by Bharat Bhushan, Ajay Sharma, Amit Sharma, Gurbachan Singh, Taranpreet Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Subash Chander, Harvinder Singh, Satinder Singh & Ravinder Singh.
