Inter Zonal District Level Football Competition concludes

JAMMU, Apr 11: Inter Zonal District Level Football Competition under the scheme “Let’s play” co-branded with Khelo India Programme for the year 2018-19 of District Jammu was concluded today here at BSF paloura ground.

Akhnoor Zone & Jammu Zone lifted Boys U-19 & U-16 Inter Zonal Football Championship of District Jammu under the scheme “Let’s play” co-branded with Khelo India Programme for the year 2018-19 of District Jammu concludes today here at BSF paloura ground defeating Miran Sahib Zone & Bhalwal Zone respectively.

In all 610 boys drawn across from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions.

Later on, Haji Mirza Hussain Dy. Director Central Directorate of Youth service & Sports who was chief guest on the concluding ceremony distributing the trophies among the winner & runner up team.

While addressing the gathering he said that sports is only medium through which we can inculcate the sense of discipline dedication & devotion among the youths of the state. On this occasion he also praised the organizers for organizing such a mega event in a successful manner wherein, 42 teams across Jammu District took part.

The competitions are being organised by Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad , Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu.

While Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the organising Secretary of the tournament.

The details : Football U/19 Boys : Final : Akhnoor Zone beats Miran Sahib Zone by 2-0 goals. U-16 Boys Final : Jammu Zone beats Bhalwal Zone by 4-3 goals via Tie breaker.

Civilians killed in cross firing: Police
SRINAGAR, Apr 11: Police today claimed that the civilians killed in Khudwani in Kulgam today died in cross firing. In a statement a police spokesman said, “One Army personnel identified as Sepoy S. Gunakar Roy No. 16121860/K who was injured in the gunfight succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom.
