JKBA invitational Basketball tourney from Apr 18
Trials for junior nationals on April 14 &15



JAMMU, Apr 11 : J&K Basketball Association (JKBA) shall organize and invitational basketball tournament for junior men (under 19) from the April 18 to 20 at MA Stadium Jammu.

The tournament shall be open to all clubs/institutions/districts of Jammu province and players born on or after January 1, 2000 are eligible to participate. The teams must confirm their participation latest by April 16, 2018. “The tournament is being organized to avail exposure to the players ahead of the forth coming junior national championship at Ludhiana, from May 7-14” said Dr. Vikram Handa, General Secretary JKBA.

The tournament is being sponsored by Addiction Gym, Chhani Himat. Nitin Gupta, Director Addiction Gym said that he chose to join hands with the J&K Basketball association as the game was fast becoming popular in the state and tournaments like this shall provide opportunities to youngsters to channelize their energies positively.

Trials for junior nationals on April 14 &15 : Trials to select Probable players for the coaching camp for the forthcoming 69th junior national basketball championships scheduled to be held from May 7-14 2018 shall be conducted at basketball arena of the MA stadium from 14-15 April, 2018. Players born on or after January 1, 2000 are eligible to appear in the trials. The interested players must report at the above mentioned venue along with their Adhaar Card, DoB certificate and passport size photographs at 4.30 PM on April 14.

Civilians killed in cross firing: Police
SRINAGAR, Apr 11: Police today claimed that the civilians killed in Khudwani in Kulgam today died in cross firing. In a statement a police spokesman said, “One Army personnel identified as Sepoy S. Gunakar Roy No. 16121860/K who was injured in the gunfight succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom.
