Appreciates Tasaduq’s honesty

SRINAGAR, April 13: Reacting to tourism Minister Tassaduq Mufti’s statement that PDP is BJP’s partner in crime, NC Working President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday appreciated him for showing honesty.
“I salute him as one gets very less chances to exhibit honesty in politics”. Omar said talking to media at NC headquarters at Nawa-i-Subh here.
He said CM’s brother revealed truth and may not survive in the government anymore given his honest approach.
“Tassaduq has not been in politics for so long and he became Minister recently. I cannot say he got this news late but I don’t think he will be in the government anymore. What is the fun to be part of such government which asks for blood” said Omar.
He also said that Tassaduq Mufti who is younger brother of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti himself raised questions on PDP-BJP alliance.
Omar while seeking action against some BJP Ministers for supporting eight years old Asifa’s rapists asked Chief Minister to take action against her Ministers in cabinet the way she reacted in Haseeb Drabu’s issue.
“Although Haseeb Drabu did not commit any serious offence but he was still sacked. If CM thinks she did a brave job by sacking Haseeb Drabu she needs to show same bravery in this matter as well by taking action against these two Ministers” Omar added.
He said Prime Minister has no role in appointing or sacking state Minister’s as it is the prerogative of Chief Minister to decide who should be in the Cabinet.
“Their Spokesman on a TV channel yesterday said PM will take opportunity to take action against these two Ministers and I think these are lame excuses as Pm has no role in appointing or sacking state Ministers,” said Omar.
The former Mehbooba has to make her mind whether she is ready to work with those Ministers who are busy in protecting Asifa’s murderers.
He also sought stern actions against Kathua Bar Association President B S Salathia for threatening police not to make arrest in Asifa’s case.
Responding to a query as to what is his take on Salathia’s assertions that he will take AK-47 if police did not give up the case he said “had any youth in Kashmir talked about taking AK-47 rifle he would have been slapped with PSA. BS Salathia not only threatened the state but whole of India”
“He said that he will not let police and judiciary to discharge their duty, now tell is there any difference between those you called terrorists and B S Salathia. I demand a separate case should be filed against him in the court,” Omar added.
