Gandhi Nagar, & Miran Sahab Zones lift Inter Zonal District Level football Competitions
JAMMU, Apr 13: Gandhi Nagar, Jammu & Miran Sahab Zones lifted Girls U-12, 16 & 19 yrs Inter Zonal District Level Football Championship under Let's Play Football Co-branded with Khelo India here today at BSF Paloura Ground and at Sainik Public School Football Ground.

Sainik Colony defeated Arnia Zones in U-12 & U-19 & Akhnoor Zones in U-16 age categories respectively.

In all 550 Girls drawn from 42 teams across 14 Zones of District Jammu took part in the competitions.

The competitions were organized by Department of Youth Services & S[ports under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the supervision of Sh. Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu, while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the organizing secretary of the event.

Later on, Ajit Singh Tomar, Deputy Commandant (Sports Officer BSF Paloura) who was chief guest on the concluding ceremony distributed the trophies among the winners & runner's up teams. While addressing the participants,

Tomar said that the student should take the benefit of Centrally sponsored schemes in Sports particularly the girls students who should come forward and show their talent in such tournaments. He further said that the initiatives taken by the Government regarding Beti Bachaw Beti Padaow and by organizing such events by department of Youth Services & Sports is a step forward in this direction.

The details : Girls U-19 yrs : Final Match: Miran Sahab Zone beat Arnia Zone by 2-0 goals. . Semi Final: Miran Sahab Zone beat Jammu Zone by 2-0 goals. Arnia Zone beat Akhnoor Zone by 3-2 goals in a well contested match. Girls U-16 yrs: Final Match: Jammu Zone beat Akhnoor Zone by 1-0 goals.

3rd Place : Miran Sahab beat Arnia Zone by 2-1 goals. Girls U-12 yrs Semi Final: Gandhi Nagar Zone beat Marh Zone by 4-3 goals (via Tie breaker). Arnia Zone beat R. S. Pura Zone by 2-1 goals (via Tie breaker). 3rd place :R.S. Pura Zone beat Marh Zone by 3-0 goals.
