Tuition centres to continue functioning: CCA
MAJID NABI
SRINAGAR, April 23: Coaching Centre’s Association (CCA) today said the coaching and tuition centres will function from tomorrow as usual as they have not received any order from the government for closure of tuition centres.

Addressing a press conference here president CCA G N War said they have come to know about the government announcement regarding closure of tuition centres from media only and no order was received by them in this connection.

He added when they approached the authorities in this connection they were told that there is some communication gap.” The authorities want to streamline the coaching and tuition centres and we are for it. No government rule will be violated. We will fully cooperate with the government. An impression was created that tuition centres were closed for security reason but the authorities said there is no such issue,” War said.

Defying government orders to close coaching centre’s for ninety days, owners of private tuition centre’s Monday announced to continue operations throughout the valley from Tuesday.

Addressing a hurriedly conveyed presser; Coaching Centre’s Association (CCA), President G.N War termed the government decision as dictatorial saying tuition centres will continue to function until formal orders are issued in this regard.

“What makes the government to announce closure of tuition centre’s for ninety days? These are tactics to hide failures. Coaching centres bore the brunt of government’s failure to stop students from holding protests,” War added.

He said government should take slew of measures with regards to the functioning of coaching centres in Kashmir so that student’s education is not affected.

“We have holding meetings with Director Education from time to time and have assured him of full cooperation, let the government come up with some concrete policy as inspector rule aimed at imposing self decisions does not work at all,” said he.

War said until and unless government won’t issue any formal notification, coaching centres will continue to function across the valley.

He said the government instead of closing caching centre’s which are recognized after proper verification should close down the unrecognized centres that flouts the norms.

“Private tuition is a matter of choice and not compulsion. Coaching centre’s does not comes under the ambit Education Department. It’s the choice of parents as to whether they wish their children join private tuition or they are satisfied with School education which is compulsory for the student,” he said.

He said in order to settle issues like fee structure it is mandatory for the government to create a mechanism and take owners on board.
