Speaker's election on May 10

JAMMU, May 8: The J&K Government is likely to hold election of new Speaker of the Legislative Assembly without calling full session of the House on May 10.

Sources told that former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh is likely to be elected to the post unanimously as opposition may not press for the post due to shortage in numbers.

Sources told that on Thursday at 2.00 PM, the elections can take place.

BJP National general Secretary Ram Madhav had said that Nirmal Singh will be the candidate for Speaker. The post of Speaker was vacant, after Kavinder Gupta was made DY CM.
