2 army men injured in Poonch blast

POONCH, Jun 9: Two army jawans on Saturday were injured in a landmine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sawjian sector of Poonch district.
Official sources said an anti-personnel landmine exploded this evening along LoC near Sankh post in Sawjian sector in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district in which two army jawans of 22 MLI were injured. Fellow jawans immediately shifted them to 425 Field Hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.
Official sources said that this evening jawans were patrolling near LoC when all of a sudden an anti-personnel mine exploded with a bang, after one of the jawans accidentally stepped on it. Two jawans were critically injured in the explosion. The Injured were identified as Havaldar Arun Hundre of 22 MLI and Sepoy Akshay of 22 MLI. Both were immediately were shifted to 425 Field Hospital Poonch for treatment.
Sources said heavy rains in the area could have washed land mines and one of dislocated mines would have shifted to the patrolling route on which the jawans accidentally stumbled.
