9 security men injured in Tral attack

SRINAGAR, Jun 22: Nine security personnel were injured in an attack at Tral township today.
Reports said t the militants opened fire and lobbed a grenade at a joint party of police and the CRPF near Court road Tral, resulting into injuries to nine personnel.
A police official said militants fired upon the security forces when they were handling law and order on Tral road.
“Militants lobbed a grenade followed by firing on the security forces from a crowd when they were busy with law and order duties on Tral road resulting in injuries to the nine security forces personnel.”
“Security force personnel exercised maximum restraint after being attacked by militants to prevent any civilian casualties,” the official said adding that the injured security force personnel were removed to the hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Hizbul Mujhadeen claimed the responsibility for Tral grenade attack, reports a local news agency, CNS.
