Man’s body found on Mughal Road

POONCH, Jul 8: A dead body recovered under mysterious circumstances from Chandimarh village near Panar bridge on Mughal Road this afternoon.

Police sources said this afternoon a person witnessed a dead body lying on the banks of Suran river near Panar bridge, he immediately informed police. Locals and police shifted the body to Sub District Hospital Surankote.

SDPO Surankote Riaz Ahmed said that this afternoon a dead body was found near Panar bridge. “We are investigating the case. From preliminary investigation it seems that the person would have slipped from the road or bridge. We are investigating the case and it’s too early to say anything. We tried to identify the body and show the picture of the body to the relatives of the missing persons and labourers working on Mughal Road and people of adjoining area. Later the body was identified as Saran, son of Hira Lal, resident of Ranga Mithi, Police Station Haljini, West Bengal,” SDPO informed.

Police had initiated proceedings under 174 RPC in this connection.
