Militant’s father dies of heart attack

SRINAGAR, Jul 10: Father of a militant died of heart attack after a rumour that his son was trapped in an encounter with security forces at Kumdala in Shopian.

Reports said that Mohammad Ishaq Naikoo, father of Zeenat Naikoo who had joined militant ranks some two months back, suffered a heart attack after hearing that his son was one of the militants trapped in Kundalan.

Naikoo, a resident of Memander village of the district was shifted to district hospital Shopian where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

After the encounter it transpired that Zeenat was not among the trapped militants.
