Inquiry ordered against 3 police officials

DODA, Aug 8: One of the four accused, allegedly involved in a low-intensity blast inside a school in Bhaderwah, escaped from police lock up late Tuesday night.
In this connection, an inquiry has been initiated against three police officials.
The accused was among four persons detained by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police for questioning, after the blast inside the Government school at Shiva village on Monday left principal Hoshiyar Singh and another female member of the staff Sharifa Begum injured.
After confirming that a crude explosive device was used to trigger the explosion, the SIT had quizzed dozens of people before detaining Tanveer Ahmad, a class fourth school employee and Mir Din and two others last evening. They were lodged at Police Post Bhalla, the officer said. Tanveer Ahmad, however, escaped from the police post toilet on the pretext of attending nature’s call early morning taking advantage of darkness, the officer added.
On Monday at about 9.20 AM, when school Principal Hoshiar Singh along with some other staff members was in the school office, a low intensity blast occurred in his office resulting grievous injury to him (Principal) and Sharifa Begum.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconder. An inquiry has been initiated against three police officials of Bhalla Police Post for dereliction of duty.
