JRL calls for shutdown today against Kulgam killings

Appeals for Lal Chowk march on Tuesday

SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) today called for a shutdown in Kashmir tomorrow against Kulgam killings and other oppressive measures.
It has also called for a march towards Lal Chowk on Tuesday for a protest sit in.
In a statement JRL comprising of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik also said they are preparing a memorandum for United Nations Secretary General.
The statement said, “Kashmir has been turned into a slaughter house where no young, old, child or women is safe. The tyranny and oppression has crossed every limit now and Kashmiris cannot tolerate this silently anymore. Kashmiris will observe a total strike against Kulgam carnage and other oppressive measures on Monday while as on Tuesday people along with JRL leadership will march to Lal Chowk and hold a protest sit-in against aggression. Also to highlight Indian aggression against unarmed civilians in Kashmir, JRL is preparing a memorandum to united nations secretary general,” the statement said.
JRL strongly condemned the carnage by forces at Kulgam today in which until now 10 Kashmiris have been ruthlessly slaughtered while as hundreds stand in injured by pellets, bullets and bombs.
Terming Kulgam carnage as a part of ongoing state terrorism in Jammu Kashmir, JRL said ruthless killing spree and other acts of suppression by army, SOG, police and forces have crossed every limit now and Kashmiris cannot tolerate this silently anymore.
