GD Goenka celebrates Diwali in school

JAMMU, Nov 2: The celebration of Diwali came alive at GD Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Charitable Trust, today wherein children of primary wing invited everyone to a cultural extravaganza on the auspicious occasion.
The song "Diwali aayee re" brought out the essence of the festival. The students depicted the journey of Lord Ram and Sita and their homecoming after killing Ravana. The students talked about the significance of the festival- good always conquers evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India.
The students showcased the spirit of Diwali through a performance. The Primary Coordinator Bhavna Jamwal appreciated the children for their performance and the hard work put in by the entire team. The function was wrapped up by the inspiring speech delivered by the Principal Rajesh Rathore.
He expressed his overwhelming emotions at having seen the theatrical skills of Primary school students. He lauded the efforts of students and staff. He added, "at the end, only the truth prevails and rest everything fades into nothingness". He advised everyone to celebrate cracker-free and environment-friendly Diwali and also to be compassionate towards the less fortunate ones.
