Australia retains policy of appointing two vice captains

MUMBAI, Nov 2: Cricket Australia (CA) has retained the policy of appointing two vice captains for all international matches.
The new policy began in September this year and was implemented for the matches against Pakistan in UAE.
"These appointments (i.e. retaining the policy) are permanent appointments", Tim Whitttaker, the Head of Communications informs.
"We have a captain and joint vice captains for Test, ODI and T20 teams…", Jeremy Arnold, the Communications Manager-Men's cricket added.
Test : Tim Paine – Captain, Josh Hazelwood – Vice Captain and Mitch Marsh Vice Captain. ODI : Aaron Finch – C, Alex Carey – VC and Josh Hazlewood – VC. T20 : Aaron Finch – C, Alex Carey – VC and Mitch Marsh - VC.
The new police has been welcomed by John Buchanan, the former successful coach of the Australian team.
Speaking exclusively, he said, "Justin Langer believes that leadership and there fore a strong team culture should come from everyone in the group".
"By providing for 2 vice captains, one a batsman and one a bowler to support Tim Paine, Justin Langer is placing greater responsibility and accountability upon the playing group to be able to play tough uncompromising cricket, while at the same time upholding the spirit of the game".
