K K Sharma appointed as 4th Advisor to Guv

JAMMU, Nov 5: On the very first day of Durbar Move in the winter capital, Governor Satya Pal Malik Monday appointed K K Sharma, a 1983 batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre as his fourth Advisor.
As per GAD order 1621 issued today, the appointment of Sharma will be effective from the date he assumes the charge. Sharma, a retired IAS officer, had also served as the Chief Secretary in Goa and Secretary Higher Education in the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. He will be the second non J&K cadre IAS officer appointed as an Advisor to the Governor after K Vijay Kumar. Other two Advisors viz., B B Vyas and Khurshid Ahmed Ganai are J&K cadre IAS officers.
The appointment of fourth Advisor to Governor from outside Jammu and Kashmir indicates that the state is set for a long spell of Governor's rule. As constitutionally, the Governor is bound to dissolve state assembly by or before December 17 this year if new popular government is not put in place before 17th December.
After the appointment of 4th Advisor, the Governor Satya Pal Malik is likely to reshuffle the portfolios of his present three advisors and allot some of the portfolios held by them to new advisor KK Sharma.
